TORONTO, Canada, December 8, 2008 - uptime software announced a new release of its award winning 'up.time' systems management and monitoring software. up.time 5.1 delivers systems management and monitoring across platforms, domains and now across multiple datacenters.

Whether as a result of outsourcing, acquisitions, or organizational restructuring, IT infrastructures and resources are commonly distributed across multiple locations. Unfortunately, it is often difficult, if not impossible, to view and manage the health of thousands of applications, servers and devices that span geographies and time zones through an integrated interface.

Local instances of up.time collect, alert on, and report metrics from their respective sets of applications and devices. This ensures that individual data centers can be managed locally as needed. These metrics are also collected and stored in a centralized Enterprise Monitoring Station (EMS) for global visibility and management. up.time's distributed architecture ensures that no data is lost at any remote site, even if connectivity between the EMS and those sites is cut. When connectivity is restored, all necessary data is delivered to an EMS. This architecture ensures business stakeholders and administrators can monitor and report on the entire enterprise from a unified view.
